ATX – faires and bread and other stuff

It took me a while to understand what those letters meant – Austin Texas…. ATX
Yep, it’s now a year here in Austin (I’ve kept my CO roots – been back several times already), and maybe this new year we’ll get to enjoy some of it.  As I posted earlier (much earlier – like back in April sometime) the daughter and grandsons have been sick with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities) due to exposure to methamphetamine residue from their first duplex here, along with carbon monoxide (gas leak).  Good news is they ARE getting better.  Lots of holistic healing going on here.  Functional medicine, chiropractic, nutritional dietary changes, energetic healing from an awesome healer in Round Rock named Francis the Healer (from Scotland originally) and his proteges, and lots of love and prayer and healing energy from friends and acquaintances in the healing community.  Here and especially in Colorado.  We all do so appreciate the energies that have been directed towards my family.  It’s all good!!!

On my part, I’ve gotten back into doing what I really love – touching people.  After a long hiatus of over a year, my hands just couldn’t keep themselves off a body – any body, some body, a body…   My work has evolved into what I call Healing with Energetic Touch.  My own hands-on-healing – a little bit of everything I know thrown together to make for a soothing, relaxing, and hopefully healing experience.  And of course, the experience of serenity.  I have been available for the Serenity Experience on an occasional basis, in Austin at the Community Renaissance Market, a small business incubator that had been operating out of what was once an Albertson Supermarket.  An incredible concept, operated by a savvy gal determined to make a difference.  Due to unforeseeable circumstances (like the lease holder collecting the rent and not giving it to the building owner), the market is closing at the end of this month.  Having been open for a little over a year, many of the kinks have been worked out and we’re all anticipating the relocation of CRM to a better place.  The market was home to a variety of small business and art galleries.  My mom is one of those small businesses – although not a regular storefront biz owner, she was showing and selling her hand-crocheted accessories every weekend from Saturday to Sunday.  Both days from about 10:30am to around 5pm.  I’ve been there with my trusty massage table, newsletters and other what-nots, every first weekend during the Healthy Wealthy Wise Metaphysical Faire, and occasionally on other weekends. But always that first Saturday.  And I work by donation only – no one is ever turned away.  It makes for a happy time all around. 😉

And now about the bread.  Since the kids are gluten free, and store-bought g.f. breads are so costly and don’t taste very good, I’ve started baking my own gluten free breads and muffins.  And they’re really good!!!   They have to be for me to say that about my stuff.  Well, let’s just say that everyone who’s tasted them has told me that I need to be selling them.  So that’s just what I’m going to do.    I’ll have more about that soon.  Be on the lookout for ‘ANGEL BAKES Gluten Free’.  I’ll have a site up soon featuring the delicious multi-grain breads, apple muffins, pumpkin bars, and more.  If my mom likes them (she is NOT gluten free and loves her bread), then you know it has to taste good.  Not only do they taste good, but I’ve made sure that they are nutritious too.  Gotta keep my grandkids healthy – no empty carbs for them.  It’s taken me a while to get some consistency – gluten free flours are not easy to work with – but I think it’s time.  I’ve been fortunate to be able to give out samples at the Community Renaissance Market during their Makers and Bakers Bazaar, and the feedback has been really positive.  So, yeah, a new business is born.  To keep your cost down, I have a special program where you buy the ingredients and I make the bread for 1/2 price.  A win-win situation. Time to get the Austin branch of BHA going.  I’ve been so fortunate to have met some wonderful healers and holistic-minded people out here.  I’ve done the leg work, and this year will see the birth of Austin Healing Arts Samplers.  I’ll be scouting out a good location, so if any Austinites are reading this, send me an email or connect with boulderhealers on Facebook with suggestions on where the best place to have a holistic sampler would be.  Sending a message to is the best way to connect with me.

I’ll try to keep this blog up to date, and keep you all posted on where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing.

Love and light, Angela
